The Touch of Wood
By Eric Buechel
In forests deep where whispers dwell, Amidst the trees, their
stories swell, The best wood is not gold or rare, But that which warms
with tender care.
Each line and knot, a tale to tell, Of seasons passed, of sun and swell,
It beckons softly, a gentle call, To those who seek the heart of all.
With every touch, a bond is made, In oak and pine, in chestnut's shade,
The smoothness speaks, the texture sings, In humble woods, our spirit clings.
For wealth is found in how it feels, In every curve, the heart reveals, Not in the cost,
but in the grace, Of wood that finds its rightful place.
So let us cherish, let us hold, The wood that warms, the wood that molds, For in its touch,
we understand, The best wood rests in loving hands.
