In-house Framing: The Next Step in Creative Control

In The Studio: Recently my work has taken a different turn and my vision of the work floating under glass was difficult to achieve. No matter how I would describe my end vision, the frames and mounting of the artwork did not match my expectation. With the mixed media and deckled edging, it was important to have the work floating above the background yet be away from the glass to best preserve the work. So the in-house framing department was born out of necessity. The "Just Basic Frames" were developed as a joint effort between Bob Stevens and me. Bob, my friend and now framing manager, oversees all the framing. Our technique produces simple frames with clean lines to compliment the artwork.

Now at the Mason Fine Art Gallery

The Familiar - A chance to see my latest collection is currently available in Atlanta at The Mason Fine Art Gallery. This grouping showcases a variety of mediums and techniques. You will see the beautiful and unusual held in perfect balance with a depth only achieved through mastery of combining techniques in a unique way. I chose to paint those things that are familiar and evoke memories of everyday events in my personal life. Perhaps you can relate to some of these memories too. This depth is best appreciated in person.
