A Poem for Momma Kim

by Eric Buechel

In the heart of the east where the cherry blossoms bloom,

A spirit so gentle, dispelling all gloom.

From Japan she arrived, with stories to share,

A tapestry woven with love and with care.

With grace in her step and a smile on her face,

She carries the warmth of her homeland's embrace.

In the kitchen, she dances; the flavors unite,

Creating a feast that feels just right.

Her laughter, a melody, sweet as the spring,

A bond that transcends every season's swing.

With wisdom like rivers that flow through the land,

She nurtures our hearts with a delicate hand.

Through seasons of life, in joy and in strife,

Momma Kim, you illuminate our lives.

Your stories of courage, of honor, and pride,

Remind us of roots that forever abide.

So here's to you, Momma, with love we bestow,

A treasure, a guide, in all that we grow.

From Japan to our home, your spirit shines bright,

In our family’s heart, you are pure delight.
