In Arizona's Embrace

by Eric Buechel

In Arizona's desert, where the sun beats down,

Amidst the golden sands, where shadows wear a crown,

The honeybees take flight, on wings of gossamer gold,

In search of nectar's sweetness, a tale of old retold.

Through cacti tall and proud, they weave a dance divine,

With whispers of the wind, and scents of sage entwined.

Their tiny hearts a-thrum, with purpose pure and bright,

They navigate the arid air, from dawn till fall of night.

Each blossom, like a beacon, in the vastness of the land,

Calls forth the diligent workers, with nature’s gentle hand.

The yucca blooms in silence, the ocotillo stands tall,

In vibrant hues, they beckon, to the bees, a siren's call.

Oh, brave adventurers of the sky, in pursuit of liquid gold,

Your tireless quest for sweetness, a story to behold.

With every drop collected, a cycle spins anew,

Life’s tapestry in motion, woven with the dew.

So let us raise a glass, to the bees of desert fair,

For in their humble labor, they teach us how to care.

In Arizona's embrace, where the wild winds do roam,

The honeybees remind us, that the heart can find its home.
