Upward Gaze
By Eric Buechel
In the hush of twilight’s embrace, Where shadows dance and dreams interlace,
I lift my eyes to the canvas above, A tapestry woven with whispers of love. Stars
begin to twinkle, a celestial show, Each spark a story, a tale from long ago, The
moon, a guardian, with silvered light, Guiding lost souls through the velvet night.
Clouds drift lazily, like thoughts in my mind, Carrying wishes, both gentle and
kind, I ponder the heavens, vast and profound, In the silence of night, my
heartbeats resound. What secrets lie in the depths of the sky? What wonders await
in the realms up high? With each upward gaze, my spirit takes flight, In the boundless
expanse, I find pure delight. So here I stand, beneath the cosmic dome, In the
arms of the universe, I feel at home, For in looking up, I discover my place, A
small part of the whole, in this infinite space.
