Princess Bahari
by Eric Buechel
In a land where the sun kissed the sea,
Lived Princess Bahari, as lovely as could be.
With skin like the dusk and hair like the night,
Her laughter rang clear, a melody of light.
By the shores of the ocean, where the waves danced free,
She wandered the sands, her heart full of glee.
The whispers of tides sang secrets untold,
Of treasures and journeys, of legends of old.
The kingdom she ruled was a canvas of blue,
With coral and shells, and skies bright and true.
Fishermen’s boats bobbed in rhythm with the tide,
As the sun painted gold on the water’s wide side.
The villagers spoke of her kindness and grace,
Of how she would smile, lighting up every face.
With a heart full of dreams and a spirit so free,
She danced with the waves, a child of the sea.
Yet deep in her heart, a longing would swell,
For tales of the ocean, she knew all too well.
The waves spoke of journeys to lands far away,
Of love and adventure, of night turning day.
One moonlit evening, as the stars brightly shone,
A voice from the ocean called out to her own.
“Princess Bahari, come sail with the tide,
There’s a world full of wonders beyond the sea wide.”
With courage ignited, she summoned her crew,
And set forth from shore, where the skies were so blue.
Their ship, made of cedar, with sails white as foam,
Bore her to horizons, far away from her home.
Through storms that would howl and through calm that would sing,
They traveled together, embracing each wing.
Bahari stood strong, her heart filled with fire,
For the ocean was calling, her one true desire.
They met with the dolphins, who danced in the spray,
And mermaids who sang as they weaved through the bay.
Each island they visited, a story to share,
Of cultures and colors, of love in the air.
Yet as days turned to months, her heart felt a pang,
For the shores of her kingdom, in her heart they sang.
The songs of the waves, they echoed her name,
A reminder of home, of the life she once claimed.
With a heart full of wisdom and tales to impart,
She sailed back to her kingdom, her soul set apart.
The villagers gathered, their eyes filled with cheer,
For Princess Bahari, the one they held dear.
She shared with them stories of lands far and wide,
Of the wonders she’d seen and the friends by her side.
But most of all, she spoke of the sea,
Of its beauty and power, of its endless decree.
From that day forth, she ruled with a voice,
Encouraging dreams, letting hearts make their choice.
With the songs of the waves forever in tune,
She taught them to cherish the sun and the moon.
And so, Princess Bahari, by the ocean so grand,
Became a legend, beloved in her land.
Her spirit still dances with the tides that flow,
In the heart of the ocean, where the wild winds blow.
So remember the tale of the princess so bright,
Who sailed with the waves, embraced the night.
For in every whisper of the ocean’s sweet song,
Lies the spirit of Bahari, where dreams all belong.
