Ode to Vincent van Gogh
By Eric Buechel
In fields of gold where sunflowers bloom, A restless spirit danced in the gloom,
With brush in hand and colors bright, He painted the world with fervent light.
The heavens swirled in a cosmic embrace, A canvas alive with a passionate grace,
Whirls of blue and bursts of gold, Tales of a heart that was brave yet bold.
In every stroke, a story unfolds, Of love and loss, of dreams untold, The cypress trees,
like shadows, stand, Guardians of a troubled land. Bright sunflowers, with faces aglow,
Reflecting the warmth of a heart's overflow, Yet behind the color, a sorrow resides, In the depths of
his soul, where darkness hides. A life of passion, a tempest of pain, In the silence of night, he
fought through the rain, Though the world turned away, he painted his truth, A legacy forged from the
fire of youth. So here's to Vincent, whose vision remains, In galleries bright, where his spirit reigns,
A testament to the beauty he sought, In the heart of a painter, forever caught.
