My Latest Watercolor "Thresholds of Faith"

My latest watercolor is called "Thresholds of Faith." The painting was inspired when my wife Kathy and I drove past the First Christian Church in Crossville, Tennessee, and I took a picture of it. A few months later, I found the image on my computer and noticed the steps, which made me reflect on their significance leading to the entrance. Over the years, I've studied the Bible and recall the importance of certain numbers, including the number six. An example would be in:
1 Kings 10:18-20 Then the king made a great throne covered with ivory and overlaid with fine gold. The throne had six steps, and its back had a rounded top. On both sides of the seat were armrests, with a lion standing beside each of them. Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom.
In this painting, I wanted to convey a simpler message: it takes six steps to enter this building and embark on a new journey toward a better life and a relationship with God. Regardless of how many steps a church might have, the journey can begin with just a few steps. EB
