Honey Bees' Immeasurable
Importance to Mankind
by Eric Buechel
In the quiet hum of a sunlit glade,
Where shadows stretch like whispered fears,
The honey bees weave their golden trade,
A tapestry spun through the fleeting years.
They dance in a frenzy, a delicate waltz,
With wings like whispers, they flit, and they sway,
In the garden's embrace, where nature exalts,
They gather the nectar, the life of the day.
Oh, tiny architects of sweetness and strife,
In hives of ambition, they toil, and they strive,
Each drop of their labor, a testament rife,
To the fragile balance that keeps us alive.
Yet in the stillness, a silence descends,
As fields once alive grow barren and bare,
The echo of absence, a sorrow that bends,
The heart of the world, a burden to bear.
For without their soft murmurs, the blossoms will fade,
The fruits of our labor, a distant refrain,
In the tapestry woven, their threads are displayed,
A reminder of nature's exquisite domain.
So let us awaken, with reverence and care,
To the buzzing of life that we cannot ignore,
For in every small hive, a universe rare,
Holds the key to our future, forever and more.
