Ode to Mother
by Eric Buechel
In twilight's glow, where shadows softly creep,
There lies a heart, a treasure vast and deep;
“Mother” is a word, so simple, yet profound,
It weaves a tapestry where love is found.
With gentle hands, she shaped my tender years,
Her laughter, like a balm, dispelled my fears;
Through storms of life, her wisdom was my guide,
In every tear, her strength would there abide.
Each whispered tale, a star in night’s embrace,
Each lullaby, a soft and sweetened grace;
Her eyes, a mirror of the world’s delight,
Reflected dreams that danced in morning light.
What I achieve, a blossom from her care,
A garden rich, where hope and love lay bare;
Though time may steal the youth from her fair brow,
Her spirit lingers, ever here and now.
So let the world proclaim with voices clear,
That “Mother” is a name we hold most dear;
For in her heart, the universe aligns,
A sacred bond, where love eternally shines.
