A Flash of Yellow
By Eric Buechel
In the quiet of the morning, where the sunbeams play, A flash of yellow dances, in a vibrant, bold display. A hornet skims the surface, with a daring, swift delight, Splashes in the water, glimmering in the light. With wings like whispered secrets, it cuts through liquid air, A fleeting glimpse of nature, a beauty rare and fair. Ripples chase its shadow, in a shimmering ballet, Each drop a tiny symphony, in the dawn's soft array. Oh, hornet of the meadow, with your golden, gleaming hue, You paint the world with wonder, in a canvas bright and new. Yet in your wild adventure, a lesson to behold, In the simplest of moments, life's stories are retold. So let us pause and ponder, as we watch the water's gleam, For in a flash of yellow, lies the essence of a dream. Nature’s fleeting treasures, in a world that spins so fast, Remind us to embrace the now, to savor every cast.
