The Timber Series: Wood; America's Renewable Resource

First Image Taken In Series.jpg

The initial photo captured in the series on the morning of December 9, 2020.

In this series, I've documented the logging of 135 acres of the 235 acres I purchased in 2002. Seeing a huge oak tree fall was a little tough for me, but knowing this wood would later be transformed into beautiful furniture and whiskey barrels gave me perspective. Witnessing the loggers operate heavy machinery was a remarkable sight as well, and I felt compelled to capture this significant event. Today, I still walk my dogs along the logging paths and observe the new growth on the land. I hope you enjoy these pictures I've taken over a twelve month period, and in the years that follow, I plan to continue documenting the forest's growth.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson wisely noted, "The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn." I would also add, "Using wood is better for the planet than using plastic."
