THE PLANCK TIME SERIES
First I'd like to express to you my absolute love of science. In particularly my interest in space and time. Thinking of the creation of the universe totally fascinates me and understanding that before a grain of sand ever existed both time and gravity had to first be created. Without the two nothing would ever exist. So now we get to Planck Time. Planck time is the time it would take a photon to travel at the speed of light to cross a distance equal to the Planck length. This is the ‘quantum of time’, the smallest measurement of time that has any meaning. It is equal to 10 to the 43rd power.
With the images in this series of work, I am telling a story of the first moment of existence of the universe. I'm not telling this story in seconds, but the creation between nothing and one second, the "Bang". From pure energy the size of your hand to every single particle in the universe, including light and gravity - all created in the smallest time unit imaginable.
Smallest Time Unit
So short that’s basically unimaginable to the human mind, Planck time easily takes the title of the smallest time unit in existence.
