Ice Cap: Best of Digital Imagination, Knoxville Regional Photo Exhibition July 2019
Primarily I'm an artist/illustrator but have used photography as a tool for my paintings, illustrations and graphic designs throughout my career. While recovering from Non-Hodgkins Lympoma, I found it difficutl to sit and paint for any length of time. I began to take pictures and my camera images became my works of art. I first began capturing images in and around my home and later took short trips in the surrounding counties in middle Tennessee and eventually further as I grow stronger. I enjoy a variety of subjects which includes rural and urban landscapes, nature scenes with a touch of humanity, and even abstract photographic images. What I like best about contemporary photography is its similarity to painting today - no set of rules. Rules simply are not nessasary with the exception of balance and composition. It is my goal to invite the viewer into my space and enjoy the story I am telling with my work. So with that, please look and enjoy my variety of works . Feel free to "Friend" me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter and discuss the world of art together. I'd love to hear from you.
"Photography, as we all know, is not real at all. It is an illusion of reality with which we create our own private world". - Arnold Newman
